Torre S. Andrea
Torre Sant’Andrea is a seaside resort in Salento, about 20 km from Lecce. At Torre Sant’Andrea stands the ruins of the sixteenth-century tower of the same name. It is a very small and ancient fishing village, of which it still retains the visual testimonies and from which it is possible, in the early hours of the morning, to buy freshly caught fish.Sant’Andrea is dominated by a large and fresh pine forest that arrives up to the Alimini Lakes. Here there is a small sandy cove, a lighthouse and a summer meeting place.
Torre Sant’Andrea offers the visitor the charm of the rugged and rocky Salento coast, interrupted at some point by tiny beaches and coves in which the crystalline water evokes geographically distant places. Faraglioni, caves and ravines characterize this very short stretch of coast and attract large numbers of tourists and lovers of unspoiled landscapes. Places such as: “la punta”, “la punticeddha”, “lu bastimentu o pepe” and the “colonnina,” make Sant ‘Andrea a favorite destination for snorkelers and scuba divers in general.
An uncontaminated, blue, wild sea, beautiful backdrops and with many varieties of fish and aquatic plants is the setting for one of the emerging places in the perspective of elite tourism due to its breathtaking scenic beauty. Torre Sant’Andrea is proposed as a tourist destination for those who prefer to spend their holiday in a place that has remained unchanged for decades, offering an atmosphere of peace and relaxation.
